Upper Iowa improved to 4-3 on the season as they defeated the Lincoln Blue Tigers 69-56.
The Peacocks got off to a hot start as they hit their first six shots to take an early 13-2 lead. UIU's first four baskets were all scored by different players, before freshman
Lindsey Davis capped off the run with a three pointer. Sophomore
Ava Privet added a three before senior
Mia Huberty scored a bucket in the paint as the Peacocks closed the first quarter up 18-10.

Kayla Bohr opened the second quarter scoring on a made layup, before converting a pair of free throws. Junior
Amelia Valentino scored on consecutive three pointers on assists from Huberty, to extend the Peacock lead to 30-12. The Blue Tigers were able to cut the lead to single digits as they knocked down three shots in a row from beyond the arc. Senior
Helen Staley put an end to their run with a two-point basket, followed by Huberty converting on a midrange jumper. Sophomore
Sydnee Nelson closed out the half with a coast-to-coast layup to give the Peacocks a 38-29 lead.

The Peacocks pushed the lead back to double figures with Huberty scoring four quick points with senior
Anna Soler adding a three-point basket. Huberty and Davis each scored back-to-back shots in the paint and a Huberty three pointer pushed the lead to 17. Huberty scored 14 points in the quarter to boost the Peacocks into a 59-45 lead.

Staley added another mid-range jumper to start the fourth before Huberty scored on another two-point basket. Huberty and Nelson each knocked down their late-game free throws to close out the 69-56 victory for Upper Iowa.

Mia Huberty scored a game-high 28 points on 10-22 shooting while going 7-8 from the charity stripe. She led the Peacocks with nine rebounds, dished out three assists and blocked a shot.

Kayla Bohr added eight points on 3-6 shooting, while recording three rebounds and a team-high four assists.

Helen Staley recorded six points on 3-7 shooting and she hauled in eight rebounds. Staley also clamped up her opponents on the defensive end as she recorded two steals and blocked two shots.
The Peacocks will play their final two nonconference games of the season to close out December. UIU hosts Judson on Wednesday, Dec. 18 at 5:30 p.m. and they will take on Lake Superior State on the road, Sunday, Dec. 21 at noon.
