UIU'S RECORD SETTERS… The Peacocks have posted a 2-2 record, highlighted by a school-record setting 67-point victory over Northland College. Senior
Mia Huberty has played all 40 minutes in UIU's past two games, and she is averaging 19.0 points per game on 56.4% shooting. She matched her career high with 29 points on 11-14 shooting against Roosevelt and also opened the season with a 25-point performance against Augustana. Fifth year
Kayla Bohr is scoring 13.3 points per game, while shooting 46.7% from three-point range. She scored a career-high 22 points against Winona State, highlighted by 5-7 shooting from beyond the arc. Senior
Helen Staley is also coming off a career-high 18-point performance against Roosevelt, and she is averaging 7.5 points per game on the year. She leads the Peacocks with 10.0 rebounds per game while also dishing out a team-high 4.8 assists per game.
QUARREL WITH QUINCY… The Hawks have posted a 5-1 record and are coming off a 99-43 win over Hannibal-LaGrange. Fifth year Nicole McDermott has averaged a team-high 17.2 points per game on terrific shooting splits (53.2% FG, 53.3% 3PT, and 87.9% FT). She scored a season-high 25 points against Washburn and has added 6.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. Sophomore Mariann Blass has scored 12.0 points per game on 49.1% shooting from the floor and junior Acheampomaa Danso has added 8.0 points and 7.2 rebounds per game.
MATCHUP WITH THE MINERS… Missouri S&T opened the season with a loss, but responded by going on a three-game win streak to start the year at 3-1. Senior Franchesca Metz is averaging a team-high 11.8 points per game on 53.3% shooting from the floor and 45.5% shooting from beyond the arc. She is coming off a season-high 26 points against Emporia State where she shot 7-9 from the three-point line. Senior Addyson Kent has scored 9.8 points per game while converting 12-25 (48.0%) of her shots from three-point range, and senior Katelynne Roberts has added 8.5 points and a team-high 6.0 rebounds per game.
BATTLING THE BLUE TIGERS… Lincoln has started the season 1-2 and are coming off consecutive losses. Sophomore Hanne Nybo has recorded team-highs of 11.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game, highlighted by a double-double performance against Harris-Stowe. Junior Ayreona Carter has averaged 10.3 points and 3.7 rebounds per game, scoring a season-high 19 points on 7-10 shooting against Washburn.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS… The Peacocks will return to Fayette to take on Judson at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 18. They will then close out December and their non-conference season on the road at Lake Superior State, Saturday, Dec. 21 at noon.
