ELECTRIFYING COMEBACK… The Peacocks are coming off their most impressive win of the season as they came back from down 16-points, to stun Truman State in an 88-86 victory in overtime. Fifth-year
Katie Tornstrom and junior
Mia Huberty both recorded double-doubles with Tornstrom scoring 21 points and bringing down 10 rebounds, while Huberty scored 14 points and dished out ten assists. Tornstrom added six steals, which is a team-high for Upper Iowa this season. Fifth-year
Kayla Bohr and sophomore
Amelia Valentino both scored their season-highs as Bohr scored 15 points on 7-11 shooting while Valentino added 12 points while shooting 4-6 from the three. With the victory, the Peacocks improved to 3-3 and are 1-2 in GLVC play.
SEASON HIGHS…
REMATCH WITH TRUMAN STATE… The Bulldogs are 3-6 on the season, and have fallen to 0-3 in conference play after their defeat to Upper Iowa. Four players scored in double-figures in their most recent match, as fifth-year Ellie Weltha led the way with 19 points. Weltha shot 6-14 from the field and 7-8 from the free-throw line and recorded the second most rebounds with seven. Graduate Ainsley Tolson added 18 points off the bench in only 22 minutes of action. Tolson shot 7-11 from the floor and added five rebounds and four assists. Fifth-year Bailey Kliewer scored 11 points on 3-6 shooting and she made all five of her free throws. Kliewer also had a team-high nine rebounds (four offensive) and three steals in the match. Senior Claire Rake took 15 shots in the game, with 14 coming from beyond the three-point line. Rake scored 15 points on 5-14 shooting from three and added three assists and two steals.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS… Upper Iowa only has one more game during the remainder of December. The Peacocks face Crown College for their final non-conference game of the season at home on Sunday, Dec. 17 at 1 p.m.
