The Upper Iowa shotgun sports team competed for the second time this season in a dual vs. Hawkeye Community College on Thursday. The event took place at Crockett Ridge Clays in Ackley, Iowa. Each competitor shot 50 sporting clay targets with the top five totals counting towards the team's overall score.

The Peacocks successfully outshot the Redtails by a score of 206/250 to 199/250.
Connor Gittings,
Colton Heintz-Kuderer,
Lucas Riberich,
Brady Carrigan, and
Boe Caplan contributed to the winning team score.Â

Gittings placed first with the top score among male competitors by breaking 44/50 targets. Heintz-Kuderer tied for second among male competitors at 42/50. Riberich and Carrigan each recorded identical scores of 40/50 to round out the team.

In addition to contributing to the team score, Caplan finished second among female competitors with her score of 40/50.

Up next, the UIU shotgun sports team will head to Jefferson City, Missouri to compete in the William Woods Invite this Saturday on October 29.
