THIS WEEKEND IN PEACOCK WOMEN'S HOOPS… Upper Iowa returns home to open the 2019-20 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference slate on Saturday afternoon. The Peacocks will welcome the undefeated Winona State University Warriors to Dorman Gymnasium for a 2 p.m. clash.

FIRST YEAR LUCK… Freshman Jessica Musgrave has been making an early impact for the Peacocks this season both offensively and defensively. She has scored 15 or more points in all but one game this season for a team-leading 14.0 points per game that also ranks ninth in the conference. The Toledo, Iowa product also leads the team with eight steals as well as 6.4 rebounds per contest (16th in NSIC) including 2.8 offensive boards per game (10th in NSIC). Last weekend, Musgrave recorded 30 points, 14 rebounds, and three steals in two games to earn a spot on the Quincy Subway Classic All-Tournament Team as well as NSIC South Top Performer honors.
SCOUTING THE WARRIORS… Winona State finished the non-conference portion of its schedule with a perfect 4-0 record after a 73-63 overtime victory against Quincy University in the Warriors' most recent contest. WSU currently ranks 2nd in the conference with 80.3 points per game and 11th with 64.5 points allowed per game. The Warriors average 40.0 rebounds per game (10th in NSIC) with the third-highest offensive rebound average in the league (14.0/game). The Warriors are led by Taylor Hustad who averages 13.0 points per game on 51.2 percent shooting from the field and 8.0 rebounds per game. Four other Warriors average double figure scoring including Emily Kieck (13.0/game), Allie Pickrain (12.5/game), Caitlin Riley (12.5/game) and Sydney Lodermeier (11.0/game). Emma Fee is close behind with 9.5 points per game to go with 6.5 rebounds per contest and a team-leading five steals.
