The Peacock women's basketball team stretched their legs one last time in the preseason on Saturday in Peoria, Ill. against the NCAA Division I Bradley University Braves. Bradley used a dominant first half to cruise to a 79-40 exhibition win over Upper Iowa.

Upper Iowa trailed 42-10 at the halftime break after a rough second quarter offensively. UIU scored two in the quarter as the Braves' lead grew from 21 to 32 during the second frame. The second half was much closer as Upper Iowa scored 10 in the third quarter and then poured in 20 points in the final frame.

Eleven Peacocks scratched the scoreboard led by
Blair Klostermann's 7 points; the junior did her damage at the free throw line converting 5 of 8 attempts.
Ashley Ray and
Savannah Domeyer were the only two UIU players to knock down more than one field goal in the game.

On the boards, Domeyer paced the Peacocks with 8 rebounds including 4 on the offensive glass;
Haley Martin added 6 rebounds.

The Braves were led by Jailynn Lawson, who netted 15 points, and Gabi Haack, who added 12 points. The pair combined to shoot 10 for 15 from the floor. As a team, Bradley shot 50.8% from the floor and 48.1% from three after knocking down 13 of 27 three-point attempts.

The Peacocks will open the regular season next Friday and Saturday, Nov. 10-11 at home. Upper Iowa is hosting the MIAA/NSIC Tournament. UIU will line up against Fort Hays State University on Friday at 8 p.m. and Missouri Western State University on Saturday at 5 p.m.
