THIS WEEKEND IN PEACOCK WOMEN'S HOOPS... The Peacock women's basketball team will be welcoming the Marauders of the University of Mary and the Beavers of Minot State University to campus on Friday and Saturday for a pair of NSIC cross division battles. UIU is welcoming back basketball alums this weekend and will celebrate with a WHITEOUT on Friday night and 90's Night on Saturday evening.
SHOOTING TO THE TOP... Sophomore
Blair Klostermann had a big game against Wayne State last Saturday scoring 34 points on 17 attempts from the floor. For the weekend, the Dyersville, Iowa product scored 49 points raising her average to 18.2 points per game in her first campaign in Peacock blue and white. Klostermann leads all scorers in the league in points per game and is ranked 36th in the nation in scoring. Her average is even more impressive when you look at her conference-only numbers as she is pouring in 20.5 points per game.

HITTING THE CLUB… Redshirt senior
Carly Pagel has joined the 1,000-Point Club at Upper Iowa. The Sumner, Iowa product scored 17 points last Saturday against Wayne State to run her career point total to 1,010 points. Pagel is the twelfth UIU women's basketball player to join the exclusive club. UIU's center has been playing well since the holiday break averaging 14.3 points per game over the last eight UIU contests.
SERIES HISTORY... The Peacocks have struggled against both the Marauders of U-Mary and the Beavers of Minot State. Upper Iowa has a 2-13 record against U-Mary; UIU won the first game of the series during the 2006-07 campaign and added a victory in 2014-15. One of the losses to the Marauders came in the first round of the NSIC Basketball Tournament. UIU is also 0-5 against the Minot State with a two-point loss in the first round of the conference tourney.
SCOUTING THE MARAUDERS… U-Mary comes into the weekend with a 10-12 record overall and a 5-9 mark in the conference after splitting a pair of games last weekend. The Marauders lost to the University of Minnesota Crookston 80-71on Friday night, but bounced back with a 76-66 win over Bemidji State University on Saturday.  UM is tied for first in the NSIC in blocked shots at 5.4/game, while Hannah Larson is 12th in the NSIC in scoring (13.7 PPG), 9th in rebounding (7.8 RPG) and 2nd in blocked shots (2.5 BPG) and Gabbie Bohl is 18th in scoring in the NSIC (13.0 PPG) and first among freshmen. She is also 10th in field goal percentage (.486).
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS... Minot State continues to battle injuries as well as opposing NSIC teams, falling twice at home last weekend to Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston. MSU fell 83-57 against BSU and 69-57 against UMC. Minot State got a solid weekend out of guards Kari Clements and Madison Wald. Clements scored a team-high 14 points in the loss to BSU Friday, while Wald finished with 19 Saturday against UMC. Gabby Wilkinson played her most extensive minutes since becoming eligible at the break and paced MSU in rebounding both nights, finishing with 13 total on the weekend.
