THIS WEEKEND IN PEACOCK BASKETBALL... Upper Iowa returns to Prochaska Court in Dorman Gym this weekend for a pair of NSIC cross-division battles with the Bulldogs of the University of Minnesota Duluth and the Huskies of St. Cloud State University. St. Cloud State is in the best position heading into the final three weeks of the regular season. The Huskies are tied for third place in the NSIC North with an 11-5 conference mark, while carrying a 12-8 record overall. The Bulldogs are tied for fifth place in the north, but have a 5-11 mark against the NSIC with a 5-14 mark overall. The Peacocks are in seventh place in the NSIC South with a 4-12 record against the conference and a 5-17 record overall.
KEEPING AN EYE ON THE PEACOCKS ... Upper Iowa lost a pair of games in northwest Minnesota last weekend. The Peacocks had a two-point lead at halftime of their game with Minnesota Crookston, but were outscored 40-29 in the second half by the Golden Eagles. On Saturday, UIU dropped a 70-53 decision at Bemidji State as the Beavers claimed a 39-23 advantage on the glass.

Carly Pagel and
Sam Ofstad are netting 9.7 and 7.3 points each time out. On the glass, Kieffer (5.3) and Pagel (4.9) are combining for 10.2 rebounds per game, while Cleaver and freshman
Karlee Grabau are each grabbing 3.9 per game. Ofstad (2.2), Cleaver (1.8) and Kieffer (1.5) are combining for 5.5 assists per game, while Kieffer is snaring nearly two steals per game (1.9).
BULLDOGS OFF THE LEASH… Minnesota Duluth dropped a pair of home games last weekend to Sioux Falls (82-53) and Southwest Minnesota State (87-75). The two losses pushed UMD's skid to three games. Allyson Harris, a junior center, averaged 18.0 points per game last week shooting 51.7% on the week, while adding 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 blocks. Sophomore forward Allison Olley nearly notched a double-double with 12 points and eight rebounds on Saturday night against SMSU. Olley and first-year guard Sammy Kozlowski each averaged 9.0 points per game with Kozlowski averaging 4.5 boards, 5 assists, and 3 steals. Allyson Harris leads the Bulldogs in scoring with 14.1 per game, while Kenzie Kane is netting 10 per contest. Kozlowski, Harris and Olley all pull down over 5 rebounds a game.
HUSKIES NEAR THE FRONT OF THE PACK... St. Cloud State split a pair of NSIC cross-division games last weekend with a 78-53 win over Southwest Minnesota State prior to an 80-68 loss to Sioux Falls. Karissa LeCaptain helped lead the Huskies recording a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Chelsea Nooker leads SCSU in scoring with an average of 14 points per game, while shooting 43.5% from the floor and 38.2% from three. Two other Huskies are averaging double figures including LeCaptain (12.5) and Betsy MacDonald (11.1). On the glass, LeCaptain is pulling down a team-high 8.1 boards, while Nooker is grabbing 6.9 and Emma Konopasek (5.4) and Kyli Van Klei (5.1) are combining for 10.5 a game.
