The #23 Wolves of Northern State University jumped all over their guests in the Wachs Arena on Saturday evening taking a thirty-point lead just thirteen minutes into the game. NSU took a 50-28 lead into the break at halftime and posted an 80-54 victory for their twelfth win in their last thirteen contests.

Upper Iowa led 5-4 just over a minute and a half into the game, but over the next eleven minutes Northern State converted on 16 of their 24 shots (66.7%) to push out to a 40-10 lead. The Peacock offense woke up over the final seven minutes of the half cutting the margin from thirty to twenty-two points as the teams headed to the locker room. The Wolves used advantages of 26-6 in points in the paint and 15-5 in points off turnovers.

Northern State came out of the break and reestablished their big lead. The Wolves extended their lead out to a high of 36 points, 76-40, with just over five and a half minutes to play. Over the final five minutes, the Peacocks cut into the lead but the hole was too deep to dig out of. In the end, UIU lost 80-54.

The home team posted a 42-16 advantage in points in the paint on the night and held their guests to just 38% shooting from the floor. Besides Carly Pagel (8 for 14) and Lauren Buck (6 for 14), the team combined to hit only 8 of their 30 shots (26.7%).
