TONIGHT IN PEACOCK BASKETBALL... The Peacock women's basketball team hosts the Rangers of the University of Wisconsin-Parkside on Tuesday in Fayette.  Upper Iowa will play their final non-conference game of the season in Dorman Gym against the Great Lakes Valley Conference opponent at 7 p.m.  Live stats and a live webcast are available through the links on UpperIowaAthletics.com/Coverage.aspx.  For fans in Eastern Iowa, the game will be aired live on KCRG 9.3 tonight.

SCOUTING THE RANGERS...  UW-Parkside was picked to finish fifth in the GLVC East in 2014-2015 according to the league's 16 head coaches.  The Rangers (4-0) continued their hot start last weekend, netting a pair of victories in Ohio over Ohio Dominican University, 69-59, and Tiffin University, 60-42.  The victories followed opening weekend wins over a pair of NSIC-members; UWP defeated Minnesota State University Moorhead, 70-61, and the University of Minnesota Crookston, 82-64.  Gaby Bronson leads the Rangers in scoring on the season, averaging 14.5 points per game, 5.0 rebounds per game and 7.3 assists per game. Kristin Conniff has been a spark off the bench all season, averaging 14.3 ppg along with 4.0 rpg, hitting 40.7 percent of her shots from beyond the arc while Tara Knapstein adds 8.8 ppg. Jennifer Blunt leads the team on the glass, averaging 6.3 rpg while adding 8.0 ppg on the offensive end of the floor.

GETTING DEFENSIVE… Sophomore Emily Gustafson is leading the Northern Sun in shot blocking with 2.67 per game and is ranked 24th nationally.  She is also eighth in the conference in steals/game (2.67) and fifth in rebounds/game (8.0) trailing teammate Lauren Buck, who is fourth in the NSIC (8.3).  In addition to Gustafson's defense, the UIU post is converting her free throw opportunities at a 90.9% clip.

HERE TO HELP… Senior Lindsay Carroll is averaging 4.3 assists per game, which is the third best average in the NSIC.  The Peacock point guard has the eighth highest assist to turnover ratio as well (1.86).  Thanks to a hot start in Colorado, Carroll is averaging 16.7 points/game, the fifth highest average in the NSIC.

STORMING THE CASTLE… Castle Rock, Colorado native Olivia Winkler has opened her senior season with some of her best play in a Peacock uniform.  The senior post is ninth in the NSIC in scoring at 15.7 points/game and second in the conference in shooting percentage converting 59.4% of her field goal attempts.

LIVE ON THE AIR… After a successful fall partnership between the Upper Iowa University Athletics Department and KCRG-TV9, the Peacocks are proud to announce that all this winter's home sporting events will be shown live on KCRG 9.2 and KCRG 9.3 out of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  The Northern Sun Experience show that has also run on KCRG 9.2 will continue to be shown as well.  KCRG-TV9 is an ABC affiliate that covers all of Eastern Iowa.  Each game will be broadcast by a crew made up of Upper Iowa students from camera operators to board operators, as well as play-by-play and color commentators that work through the Athletics Department. Check your local television guide to find KCRG 9.2 and 9.3 on your cable provider.
