The Peacocks turned the ball over 12 times in the first half and dug themselves too big a hole to overcome in their season finale against the Bulldogs of Minnesota Duluth. With the 75-46 loss, Upper Iowa ends the season at 3-23 including 3-19 in the Northern Sun. Minnesota Duluth finishes the regular season with an 18-8 record and a 15-7 NSIC mark.
The first half was all Bulldogs as they began the game on a 17-4 run in the first six minutes. UIU would cut the deficit to six, 17-11, thanks to four points from Lyndsay Westgaard and a trey from Jeri Jacobson playing in her final game. That would be the closest the Peacocks got as UMD cruised to a 45-14 halftime lead.
The second half was much better for Upper Iowa as they outscored their hosts, 32-30. Whitney Kieffer scored 17 of her 19 points in the second frame. The Peacocks also improved by 10% from the field and went 9-9 from the free throw line. The halftime deficit, however, was too much to handle as UIU dropped the contest by a score of 75-46.
