The Peacocks were unable to complete a sweep at home as they fell to the Mavericks of Minnesota State University, Mankato by a score of 76-72. The guests shot at a 50.8% (30-59) clip from the field to just 38.2% from Upper Iowa including 7-18 from behind the arc for MSU. With the win, the Mavericks improve to 13-6 overall and 9-6 in the Northern Sun. Upper Iowa falls to 2-17 on the season and 2-13 in NSIC play.

The visitors stormed out to an 11-4 advantage in the first four minutes. UIU would respond and go on a 11-3 run of their own to take their first lead, 15-14, when last night's hero, Whitney Kieffer layed it in at the eleven minute mark. Those points were two of her first-half 16 that led all scorers. A pair of Kieffer free throws at the six-minute mark tied Upper Iowa's biggest lead of four points, 29-25. The Peacocks would not give the lead back until the three-minute mark, 33-32, on a three-pointer from MSU. The Mavericks would go up by as many as five and take a three-point lead, 41-38, into the locker room at halftime.

Minnesota State increased their lead to eight, 62-54, through the first nine and a half minutes of the second frame. UIU battled back and knotted it up at 62-62 on a layup from Carissa Nelson. Upper Iowa didn't get the lead back until just over six minutes were left to play. Kieffer hit a three-pointer to give the Peacocks a one-point advantage, 67-66. That would be UIU's final lead despite a seventh tie, 70-70, with 4:19 to go in the game. From that point on, the Mavericks would sink four free throws and ice the game for a 76-72 victory.
