The Peacock Women’s Basketball team opened their final roadtrip of the season Friday night when they visited Crookston, Minn. for a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference showdown with the Golden Eagles of UM, Crookston.  The home squad controlled the game from start to finish as they handed the Peacocks an 80-58 loss.

Cascade, Iowa-native Lana Otting led Upper Iowa with 16 points on seven-of-10 shooting while Chelsea Garcia tallied her best offensive scoring game of the season with 15 points.

UM, Crookston shot 50% (33-of-66) from the floor compared to UIU’s 41% (16-of-33) output and outrebounded UIU, 46-30. 

Jamie Zelinsky led the Golden Eagles with 15 points while Laurie Tyson grabbed 16 rebounds.

The Peacocks will make their final pit stop of the 2010-11 season tomorrow evening when they visit Moorhead, Minn. to battle the Dragons of MSU Moorhead.  Tipoff inside Alex Nemzek Fieldhouse is set for 6 p.m.
