Tonight, the Peacocks took on the Bulldogs of Minnesota Duluth. The Bulldogs took a 23-point lead into the locker room and cruised to a decisive 81-58 victory improving their record to 5-2 overall and 2-1 in the Northern Sun. Upper Iowa drops to 0-6 on the seasons and 0-2 in NSIC play.
At the end of the first half, UMD led UIU 43-20. They developed the big lead by shooting an even 50% (18-36) to just 20% from Upper Iowa. Duluth also dominated on the glass in the first frame, 31-14, and went on to double the Peacocks in rebounds, 50-25.
In the second half, the Peacocks came out much stronger taking care of the ball and tied the Bulldogs in points, 38-38. Laura TerHark provided a spark scoring 15 points while Lyndsay Westgaard and Jeri Jacobson each chipped in five apiece in the second half. Westgaard also brought down four rebounds.
One bright spot the Peacocks can take away from the game is forcing the Bulldogs to commit 24 turnovers.
