The Peacocks took the floor against the Wolves of Northern State University in Dorman Gym on Saturday evening. Northern State came out strong on offense, but the Peacock defense dug in and kept the home team in the game holding the visitors to less than thirty points in the first half. The Peacocks used a 12-0 run in the second half to cut the margin to six points, but it was not quite enough as the Wolves were able to pull away in the end, 71-53. The loss dropped UIU's record to 2-20 overall and 0-15 in conference action, while NSU improves to 12-10 overall and 8-7 in the NSIC.

The two teams matched up evenly over the first four minutes, 6-6, but a 16-4 run by the Wolves put the visitors on top, 22-10. The NSU run was fueled by a pair of three-pointers. Upper Iowa crept back into the game over the next thanks to strong defense and three layups that cut the margin to 22-16 with just over three minutes to play. The home team would not score over the final minutes before the halftime buzzer and went into the locker room trailing 28-16.

The Wolves opened the second half by jumping out to a quick seventeen point lead and extended the gap to eighteen, 53-35, at the midway point of the half. The Peacocks began to find their stride on offense over the next few minutes and cut the deficit to just six points, 53-47, with just over seven minutes to play. The rally came thanks to a 12-0 run that was highlighted by four points apiece from Deiters and DeVine.

Northern State quieted the home crowd with a 9-0 run that was sparked by two three-pointers from Mikayla Barondeau. The Wolves' run proved to be too much for the home team to overcome as the Peacocks dropped the game by a final score of 71-53.

Upper Iowa was led by Lana Otting, who poured in 18 points and pulled down 4 rebounds. DeVine added 10 points and 4 boards. Carrie Thoma gave the Peacocks a lift off the bench with 8 points and a team-high 6 rebounds.
