This Week in Women’s Basketball...
The first official game of the Coach Russell era in Peacock Women’s Basketball is set for Monday night when UIU travels to Romeoville, Ill. to battle the Flyers of Lewis University. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. inside Neil Carey Arena. The Peacocks dropped their only exhibition contest of the season earlier this month when they lost to Drake, 80-52.
Scouting the Flyers
The Flyers of Lewis University dropped their season opener on Friday at Saginaw Valley State 75-70. Jenny Turpel finished with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Lory Shaw totaled 16 points and 12 rebounds.
The Flyers have been picked to finish second the North Division of the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

The Peacocks hold a 1-0 record when playing Lewis since transitioning to NCAA Division II.
The Last Meeting
The Peacocks and Flyers met on December 28, 2009 in Fayette, Iowa. UIU won the contest 73-71.

Looking Ahead
The Peacocks travel to Quincy, Illinois this coming Friday and Saturday to compete in the Quincy University Tip Off Classic. Upper Iowa opens the tournament by playing the host Hawks of Quincy University on Friday at 7 p.m.
