The Upper Iowa Men's Soccer team dropped the third and final match of their Hawaiian road trip Saturday afternoon in heartbreaking fashion to Chaminade University, 1-0.
The match remained scoreless until Silver Sword midfield Charles Thompson placed a shot passed Peacock goalkeeper Andy Youde in the 71st minute, giving Chaminade a 1-0 lead and victory.
The Peacocks were outshot 10-8, while Youde turned away five shots.
Upper Iowa (1-2) will host their home opener on Friday, Sept. 4 when the Orediggers of Colorado School of Mines visit Pattison Field in Fayette for the first match of the Peacock Soccer Classic. The contest is slated for a 5 p.m. start.
