Final Stats
The Peacock baseball team defeated the Marauders of the University of Mary this afternoon behind a complete game victory by senior Brian Solemsaas. Upper Iowa won the game, 7-1, and improved to 21-21 on the season and 15-10 in the Northern Sun Conference.
The second game between the two teams reached the fifth, but did not make the cutoff for an official game.
Brock Spangenberg led the Peacocks at the plate with four hits and two runs scored. Erik Sorensen added two hits as well and T.J. Johnson picked up two rbi with a triple in the second inning.
On the mound, Solemsaas threw 7 innings allowing one run, a solo homer, on five hits while striking out two Marauders.
The Peacock baseball team will host the Vikings of Augustana College in a double header this Wednesday, Apr. 29. The NSIC double header will wrap up UIU's home schedule at Robertson Woods Field. The first pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
