Final Stats

The Peacocks played host to the Wildcats of Wayne State College on Saturday night in Dorman Gym. Wayne State used a 22-6 advantage in points in the paint in the first half to put UIU in a sixteen-point hole at halftime. The Wildcats were dominant in the second half outscoring the Peacocks 46-20. Wayne State picked up the NSIC win, 86-44. After the loss, Upper Iowa falls to 5-19 on the season and 1-16 in conference play, while Wayne State improves to 12-11 overall and 9-7 in NSIC play.

Wayne State shot 55% in the first half, while Upper Iowa only managed to hit on 29% of their opportunities from the floor. Britney Iredale led the Peacocks in the first half with 9 points and 7 rebounds.

The Wildcats did not let up in the second half as they pushed their sixteen-point advantage at half to forty points, 75-35, three quarters of the way through the half. In the end, Upper Iowa was defeated by Wayne State 86-44.

For the game, the Wildcats shot 52% from the field and pulled down 57 rebounds, while the Peacocks hit 23% of their shots and grabbed 36 rebounds.

On the night, Iredale led UIU with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Lana Otting chipped in 9 points and 6 assists, while Chelsea Arndt pulled down 7 rebounds.

The Peacocks will play in Dorman Gym again next Saturday night against the Bulldogs of Minnesota Duluth. Britney Iredale, the lone Peacock senior, will be honored at the game. Tip off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
