It's a known fact that the Peacock Men's Soccer team plays better in the snow then in the rain, and they proved it on Friday afternoon as they visited Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa. The rain came down upon both teams in the first half as the Chargers took a 1-0 lead in the halftime break. But, the rain changed to snow after halftime as the Peacocks tied the match back at 1-1 going into overtime. The Peacocks netted a goal in the second overtime period to earn the 2-1 victory.

Peacock midfielder Amel Kantarevic scored the tying goal in the 84th minute to tie the match at 1-1, then Steve Kluck netted the winning goal in the 102nd minute to give UIU the victory. Marco Garcia assisted the game winning goal while Derek Oelmann recorded the assist on Kantarevic's goal.

Upper Iowa outshot the Chargers 30-16, which included an 18-10 clip in shots on goal. The Peacocks also earned 11 corner kicks to BCU's four.

The Peacocks will close out the 2009 season on Sunday when they visit Bismarck, North Dakota to take on the Marauders of U-Mary. The visitors will be looking to avenge a 1-0 loss to U-Mary earlier in the season in Fayette. The match is scheduled for 11 a.m.
