Coming off of a 48 shot performance against UW-Superior, the Peacock Women's Soccer team played host to Bemidji State University on Friday afternoon, in its first Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference home contest since defeating UM, Crookston, 5-0 on Sept. 20. The Peacocks rallied from a 1-0 halftime deficit to defeat BSU, 2-1.
After being behind 1-0 at half, Vicki Booth blasted a 10-yard shot into the upper right corner of the goal to even the score at 1-1. The Peacocks then earned a 70th minute own goal to give UIU the lead and 2-1 victory.
Upper Iowa outshot BSU, 20-9, including 11-7 shots on goal. The Peacocks also took one more corner kick than the Beavers, 6-5.
Upper Iowa will continue NSIC play on Sunday when the #23 ranked Bulldogs of Minnesota Duluth visit Pattison Field in Fayette. The match is slated for 1 p.m.
