Final Stats

Upper Iowa continued their early season road trip on Wednesday night. The Peacocks took the floor against the Panthers of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, a Division I school and Horizon League member. The home team built a double digit lead midway through the first half en route to a 35-20 advantage as the teams headed to the locker room at halftime. The Panthers continued to put the ball in the paint for scores in the second half and began to pull away from the Peacocks. After the 87-59 loss, the Peacocks dropped to 0-2 overall, while Wisconsin-Milwaukee improved to 3-1.

Nick Kramer led the Peacocks in the first half with six points and three rebounds. Storm Schmitt also hit for six points in the opening stanza. As a team, UIU shot 31% from the field, while allowing UWM to shoot 50%. In the second half, Upper Iowa's shooting warmed slightly, 38%, while the UIU defense tried to keep pace with the Panthers' high powered offense, which shot a torrid 69% from the floor.

The Peacocks were led by freshman Mark Lafrenz, who scored 11 points, as well as Nick Kramer and Matt Lesan, who eached netted 10 points for the visitors. Schmitt and Keith Steffeck each chipped in 7 points. Four UIU players pulled down 4 rebounds; they were Alex Kramer, Nick Kramer, Schmitt, and Steffeck. Lesan dished out 3 assists, while Alex Kramer handed out 2.

Upper Iowa will remain on the road for their next game in Brookings, South Dakota. The Peacocks will play the Jack Rabbits of South Dakota State University next Tuesday, Nov. 25, at 7:00 p.m.
