Final Stats

The Upper Iowa women's basketball team took the floor at home to open their 2008-09 season tonight in Fayette. The Peacocks played hard and battled a deep Rockhurst team. Upper Iowa trailed 46-41 at halftime, but held their guest to just 26 points in the second half. Each team got a shot to win the game in regulation with less than 10 seconds, but neither team made their opportunities. The game moved to overtime where Rockhurst pulled away outscoring Upper Iowa 13-5 in the extra period.

Britney Iredale led the Peacocks with a double-double (21 points, 11 rebounds). Andrea Downs scored 15 points and added 9 assists for the Peacocks. Lana Otting played well in her first collegiate game racking up 8 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists.

The Hawks were led by Amy Hake (27 points, 7 rebounds), Valerie Zamora (18 points), and Julie Cook (10 points, 13 rebounds).

The Peacocks next game will be this coming Tuesday, Nov. 18, at home versus the Warriors of Waldorf College. Tip off is set for 7:00 p.m. in Dorman Gym.
