Box Score

The Peacock volleyball team played in their only match of the week last night at Winona State University. Upper Iowa came out strong taking the first set by a 25-22 count, but UIU stumbled in the second and third sets scoring only 17 and 15 points in each. The road team rallied in set four and played well, but the Peacocks came up on the short end in a hard fought 25-23 final set. Upper Iowa's record moves to 11-15 overall and 3-11 record in Northern Sun Conference play.

Upper Iowa was led by junior Shea Meyermann. The outside hitter led the offense with 12 kills and the defense with 12 digs. Beth Deutmeyer added 9 kills and Nicky Brown chipped in 7. Tatiana Jackson aided the Peacock defense with 11 digs, while Sara Vance added 9. Keri Vance set the table for the UIU offense with 39 assists in the match.

The Peacocks will travel to Bismarck, North Dakota next Friday night to face the Marauders of the University of Mary. The team will then head over to Aberdeen, South Dakota to line up against the Wolves of Northern State University on Saturday afternoon. Friday night's match will begin at 7 p.m., while Saturday's match will be a matinee starting at 4 p.m.
