The Peacock women's soccer team was back in action Wednesday, Oct. 1, as they played host to Lewis University. The Lewis' women were greeted with cold and windy conditions as they visited Fayette, bringing a 4-4 record into the match.
Upper Iowa struck very quickly as Allison Clark scored just 29 seconds into the match off of a pass from midfielder Leslie Willson.
Lewis answered back in the 24th minute as Erin Beddows scored on of a free kick from just outside the box to even the match at 1-1.
However, the Peacocks were too much for Lewis as Jamie Krusie assisted Amy Campbell in the 26th minute to give UIU a 2-1 advantage. This proved to be the game winning goal, as the match went back-and-forth throughout the remaining 65 minutes.
Upper Iowa was outshot 16-7 and 7-4 on goal.
The Peacock women will travel this weekend to take on Minnesota Duluth on Friday, October 3rd and will play Bemidji State on Saturday.
