The Peacock men's soccer team played host to the Flyers of Lewis University on Wednesday. Mother Nature made the weather conditions less than ideal for the match as the Flyers visited Fayette holding a 7-1 record overall and riding a three-match winning streak.

Lewis struck first blood in the 32nd minute as Corey Mastey struck a penalty kick past goalkeeper Andy Youde. But Upper Iowa stormed back just three minutes later as Frank Atchison found Jason Olsgard who chipped the ball past the Lewis keeper from 35 yards to even the match at 1-1.

The game remained tied until the 85th minute when Lewis's Nestor Hernandez put the Flyers back on top, scoring an unassisted goal past Youde to give Lewis University the 2-1 advantage and the victory.

Both teams tallied 10 shots in the match; the Peacocks put 7 of their 10 shots on goal. With the defeat, Upper Iowa drops to 5-6-1 on the season.

The Peacocks men's soccer team with be in action next as UW-Superior visits Pattison Field in Fayette. The match is slated for 3:00 PM.
