Box Score
Upper Iowa's men's soccer team hosted Dana College a week after coming off their best performance of the year versus Robert Morris (3-0 win). The Peacocks scored in the third minute of the game, but the Vikings scored four goals over the remainder of the game and pulled away for the 4-1 road victory.
UIU freshman Jasmin Arapovic got the Peacocks on the board first with a shot under the Viking keeper for a 1-0 Upper Iowa lead. Aaron Hoyne made a great pass to set up Arapovic on the goal. Four minutes later the Peacocks were called for a tackle from behind in the box and the Vikings were awarded a penalty kick. Corbin Lucasiewicz drove the ball to the back of the net to even the match at 1-1.
Dana took the lead on a goal in the 25th minute as Thor Brown was able to beat Andy Youde's challenge as he came off his line. Dana added two more goals in the second half as Upper Iowa's offensive attack seemed non-existent in the second half. The Peacocks were caught on the defensive for much of the second 45 minutes.
Youde made some incredible saves in goal for Upper Iowa to keep the margin at only three goals. The Peacock keeper came up with 13 saves on the afternoon.
Upper Iowa (3-7-0) will travel to William Penn for a match on Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 3:30, before returning home to Fayette for a pair of matches on Saturday, Sept. 29 and 30 at 3:00 both days, versus York and U-Mary.
