Upper Iowa Head Baseball Coach Mark Danker announced the signing of two student-athletes to scholarships for the 2007-08 season. The newly-signed Peacocks are Joe Dieterle (San Bruno, California) and Brad Hasenkamp (Bode, Iowa).
Joe Dieterle
Dieterle currently attends Skyline College in San Bruno, California. The left handed pitcher helped the Skyline team reach the North Coast Regional State Playoffs this past season. He graduated from Capuchino High School in San Bruno where he played both baseball and basketball. The south paw earned Peninsula Athletic All-League honors his senior season. Dieterle works hard in the classroom as well earning Dean's List honors in both high school and junior college.
Joe is the son of Mike and Linda Dieterle and will major in Physical Education with a Coaching Endorsement at UIU.
Brad Hasenkamp
Hasenkamp currently attends Highland Community College in Highland, Kansas. The second baseman is a switch hitter at the plate and batted .306 this past season with 7 doubles, 3 homeruns while driving in 25 and stealing 11 bases. The Bode, Iowa native graduated from Twin River Valley High School where he was a highly acclaimed athlete participating in four sports; football, basketball, track, and baseball. Hasenkamp earned All-District and All-Conference honors twice each.
Brad is the son of Don and Sandy Hasenkamp and will major in Business Administration at UIU.
