LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla (Nov. 3) - Assumption College (Worchester, MA) defeated Upper Iowa University (Fayette, IA), 69-61, in the 2007 Disney's Division II Women's Tip Off Classic basketball tournament on Saturday afternoon at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex near Orlando, Fla.

Megan Urban scored 11 of her team-high 15 points in the second half to lead five Assumption (1-1) players in double figures. Following a 12-point performance, Urban came off the bench for the second straight game and shot 5-of-10 from the floor. Molly Griffiths added 13 points and Bethany Plasski contributed with 12 (4-13 FG). Kayla Parker and Charde Flolyd also scored in double figures for the Greyhounds with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Andrea Downs and Chelsea Petersen scored a team-high 16 points to lead Upper Iowa (0-2). Downs shot 5-of-7 from beyond the three-point arc. Peterson grabbed 11 rebounds to record her first double-double of the season and Sara Best contributed with 15 points for the Peacocks.

With the score tied 11-11 at the 13:28 mark, Upper Iowa went on a 23-11 to take their largest lead of the half at 34-22 with 1:33 left in the first half. Molly Griffiths hit a jumper with 35 seconds left to bring the Greyhounds to within 10 entering halftime. Assumption started the second half scoring 16 of the first 21 points to take their first lead of the game since the 16:35 mark of the first half (11-8). The game was nip-and-tuck over the next ten minutes, when the Greyhounds went on a 15-5 run to take their largest lead of the game (69-59) with 1:53 left in the game. Assumption held Upper Iowa to just two points over that time span for the eight-point victory.

Assumption faces Lander University (Greenwood, SC) on the final day of competition Sunday at 12:00 p.m. Upper Iowa seeks their first victory of the season versus University of Indiana - PA (Indiana, PA) on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
