The Peacocks (3-21, 3-17 NSIC) split a pair of NSIC games over the weekend in the team’s final appearance in Fayette this season. Upper Iowa posted an 81-59 win over Minnesota, Crookston on Friday before falling to MSU Moorhead on Saturday by a 97-57 count. The Peacocks dominated the opening minutes of Friday’s second half thanks to a 19-4 run that pushed their lead to 55-29. On Saturday, the Dragons, led by Angie Jetvig’s huge night, were too much for UIU, who recognized senior Jeri Jacobson following the game for her two years with the program. Jacobson led the team over the weekend with 16 points and 3.5 rebounds per game, while freshman Whitney Kieffer added 15 points and 6.5 rebounds a contest. Upper Iowa will wrap up their 2011-12 season this coming Friday and Saturday, Feb. 24-25, on the road. The Peacocks will face the Beavers of Bemidji State University on Friday at 6 p.m. in Bemidji, Minn. and the Bulldogs of the University of Minnesota Duluth on Saturday at 4 p.m. in Duluth, Minn.
