MacKayla Olsen earned a first-place finish at the 2021 NSIC Women's Golf Championships to claim medalist honors and earn a spot on the NSIC All-Tournament Team. The UIU senior put together rounds of 78, 79, and 77 to compile a three-day total of 234. Olsen's third-round mark of 77 was the low-round of the final day of the tournament as no other competitors recorded a sub-80 total in round three in the face of wintry conditions. The Stewartville, Minn. native was tied for the third-best mark in par-three scoring with an average of 3.17 (+2), tied for the sixth-best par-four scoring with a 4.50 (+15) average, and led the tournament with a 5.08 (+1) average in par-five scoring. The Rochester C&TC product recorded a tournament-best 34 pars while also tying for the 10th-best mark with three birdies. Olsen's NSIC Championships medalist honor marks the fourth time in school history that an Upper Iowa women's golfer has claimed a first-place finish at the championships. Three Peacocks claimed medalist honors in a four-year span from 2007-08 to 2010-11. Rachael Schmidt (77-71-74-73) earned medalist honors in the 2007-08  Championships, Rochelle Schmidt (78-79-75-75) claimed the top spot a year later in 2008-09, and Jill Preeshl (76-80-73-75) took the top spot in 2010-11.
