Matt Lesan led the Peacocks with 16 points per game including 20 against UMC. The senior also added 4.5 assists and 2 steals per game while hitting 8 of his 11 free throw attempts. 

Upper Iowa split their final two NSIC home games for the month of January over the weekend. The Peacocks cruised to victory over MSU Moorhead on Friday night, but fell to Minnesota, Crookston on Saturday in overtime. UIU rallied back from two separated fourteen point runs by the Golden Eagles to force overtime on a trifecta from freshman Trevor Hook with one second remaining in regulation. The Peacock defense played well enough to hold their opponents to just 56.5 points in regulation in the two games.

The Peacocks (5-10, 4-7 NSIC) will head out on the road next Friday and Saturday, Jan. 21-22. UIU will play Augustana on Friday at 8 p.m. and then travel to Wayne State on Saturday for a 6 p.m. tip.
