Stephen had 12 tackles, including 6 solo stops, a tackle for loss and sack in the 34-19 loss to SMSU. The Peacocks held the normally-robust Mustang running game to just 22 yards on 31 carries. Upper Iowa took a 19-14 lead into halftime, but Southwest Minnesota State University put 20 points on the board in the second half while shutting out the Peacock offense to post a 34-19 victory.
