Improved his record to 21-10 with a pair of wins by fall earning a team-high 12 points for the Peacocks
Pinned Riley Nagel (U-Mary) in 4:24 on Friday night and followed it up with a pin of Blake Perryman (Northern State) in a time of 2:29 on Saturday night
Vance now has 12 bonus-point wins including 8 by fall, 2 by tech fall and 2 by major decision
Upper Iowa scored 93 team points in a pair of home duals versus U-Mary (45-0) and Northern State (48-3)
The Peacocks recorded eight wins by fall, five by forfeit, six by decision while only surrendering one bout over the weekend
UIU wrestlers to earn a win by fall versus U-Mary included Matt Paulus (0:52), #6 Jordan Rinken (3:54), Vance (4:24) and Dalton Westerlund (2:46)
Peacocks with a win by fall against Northern State include Jordan Roths (5:57), Vance (2:29), #6 Blake Sorensen (1:35) and #7 Logan Hopp (2:20)
Under Head Coach Heath Grimm, now in his fifteenth season at the helm of the UIU program, the Peacocks have posted 11 shutouts in eight different seasons including fourth in the last two years. During the 2013-14 season, UIU claimed three shutouts including wins over Hannibal-LaGrange, 58-0, Calumet College, 57-0, and Northern State, 47-0.
Upper Iowa will head to Marshall, Minn. to face the Mustangs of Southwest Minnesota State University at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 30. The team will then return to Fayette for an afternoon (2 p.m.) dual against Minot State University on Sunday, Feb. 1.
