Sophomore pitcher Jacqueline Flood posted a 1-2 record and a complete-game victory against Southwest Minnesota State this past Friday. The 2013 NSIC Freshman of the Year allowed just seven hits and one run as she improved to 4-11 on the year. Every other inning beginning in the first, Flood stranded a pair of Mustangs on the bags. She also retired three-straight batters in the second and fourth innings. The win helped the Peacocks earn a sweep against SMSU and improve to 8-10 in the NSIC this season.

Following her victory, the Mt. Vernon, Illinois native was strong through five innings against the Cougars of Sioux Falls on Saturday. The 5-foot-8 right-hander gave up just one run off three hits, while stranding three Cougars on base before USF's bats came alive. USF scored six runs off five hits in the sixth inning to claim the 7-1 victory at home. Flood also posted a seven-inning game last Tuesday against Concordia, but she couldn't get the win. Flood allowed 11 hits and 7 earned runs to the Golden Bears as UIU fell, 7-4, at home.

The Peacocks are back in action this week as they look to host some of the top teams in the nation before enjoying senior day on Saturday. The team will host four teams in six days. Click here to view the full schedule.
