Dickson Paz threw a complete game in game two on Saturday. Paz allowed only one hit in his final five innings of work to earn the victory. Paz allowed six hits over his nine innings while striking out thirteen Marauders to improve to 2-0 on the season.
The Peacock baseball team lost three of four last week and Mother Nature took another pair of games off the schedule. Northern State defeated UIU in a pair of come-from-behind, late-inning decisions (8-5, 4-3) on Thursday before the Peacocks split with U-Mary on Saturday. Once again, Upper Iowa had a late lead, 3-2, but the Marauders got two runs including the winning one on a walk off rbi-single to lose 4-3. In the second game, Upper Iowa snapped a five-game skid with a 9-3 win over the Marauders. Four Peacocks hit over .400 for the week including Cody Booker (.444), Jose Aguirre (.429), Alex George (.429) and Tyler Adams (.400) as the team accounted for a .309 team average.
