Tyler Adams went 6-8 at the plate as the Peacock baseball team returned to the field on Sunday in Clearwater, Fla. Adams pushed his batting average to .636 this season as UIU competed in its fifth and sixth games of the year. The team came up short against #7 Grand Valley State University and fell to 3-3 this year as the Peacocks are just getting their week in Florida started. The Lakers on the other hand, are wrapping up their week in Clearwater and improved to 7-3 with the wins. GVSU won game one, 5-4, and game two, 11-3.
Upper Iowa is scheduled for seven more games in next five days. After competing with Kentucky Wesleyan College on Monday, UIU will compete in three nine-inning games from Tuesday through Thursday. The Peacocks will face Ohio Valley University surrounding a matchup with Hillsdale University. Friday will be the final day of action for the Peacocks as they line up for two nine-inning games against Slippery Rock University and Northwood University.
