Josh Weeber averaged a team-high 17.5 points over the weekend for the Upper Iowa Men's Basketball team including a game-high 26 points on Sunday against Fort Hays State. The freshman from Dubuque, Iowa hit 11 of his 26 shots for a 42-percent shooting clip in UIU's opening weekend.

While struggling from beyond the arc on Saturday, Weeber bounced back a day later and drained 3-of-6 from long range. Weeber’s performance against the Tigers rewrote the Peacock record book as he scored the most points in a single game for a freshman since UIU joined the Northern Sun Conference before the 2006 season. Weeber also snagged nine boards, added an assist and a steal in the Peacocks first two contests of the season.
