Madie Edwards scored her sixth and seventh goals of the season and added her third assist of the season this past weekend to lead the Peacocks to a conference sweep at home. On Friday, as UIU hosted Minnesota Crookston, Edwards found the back of the net in the 83rd minute as an insurance goal in a 3-1 victory, yet her biggest play came nearly ten minutes earlier. After the Golden Eagles tied the game up at a goal apiece, UIU bounced back to take the lead, 2-1, thanks to a perfect assist on a through-ball from Edwards. The Crystal Lake, Illinois native followed that up with a goal on Sunday against Bemidji State as the Peacocks held on to a 2-1 victory. Edwards scored in the 64th minute on a cross from Corinne Wronski. Edwards totaled five points this weekend and now has five more goals this season than she did all of last season. In all, Edwards took six shots and placed three of those on goal.
