Aaron Calkins netted two goals this past weekend as the Upper Iowa Peacocks split two conference games with Harding University and No. 6 Northeastern State University. On Saturday, the Peacocks took ahold of second place in the MIAA with a big 4-3 overtime win over Harding University. Calkins netted the first goal of the game as the Peacocks remained undefeated at home this season. Then on Sunday against the RiverHawks, Calkins earned his fourth goal of the season in the twenty-ninth minute of play to give his team a 1-0 lead. NSU responded with two goals and eventually snapped the Peacocks win streak as they earned the 2-1 victory. Calkins is now tied for the team-lead with four goals through ten games, and as a transfer, Calkins has started all but one game this year.

After splitting their matchups against two of the top teams in the conference, the Peacocks will play one final game before talking a week off. UIU will host Clarke University in Fayette on Pattison Field at 3 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon. This game will have added significance for Head Coach Jason Carlson and UIU forward Aaron Calkins. For Carlson, he coached Clarke to a program-high 10 wins last season thanks to his star forward Aaron Calkins. Last season in the blue and yellow, Calkins netted a team-high ten goals and added an assist through 18 games for the Crusaders. Wednesday will mark the fifteenth meeting between the Crusaders and the Peacocks. UIU has won four of the last five meetings between the teams and overall, they own a 8-4-2 record in the series. The Peacocks fell to Clarke last season by a score of 3-1.
