Vicky (Ringenberg) Rarick is being inducted into the Upper Iowa University Athletics Hall of Fame as an Athlete. She graduated with an Elementary Education major as well as a Coaching Endorsement. Rarick was a four-year letter winner for the Peacock women’s basketball team from 1996-99. She was named All-Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) First Team as a Center in 1998 and 1999, along with an All-IIAC Second Team honor in 1997.Rarick currently holds three women’s basketball records at Upper Iowa. She is the all-time leading scorer with 1,431 points and rebounder with 887. Rarick held the record for most rebounds in a season with 252 until the 2014-15 season. She played basketball under Coach Linda Olson for one year and Coach Bill Wilson for three years. A graduate of Rochester Mayo High School, she was named to the Minnesota State Tournament Team.
She started her teaching/coaching career in St. Charles, Minnesota. From 2000-2006, she taught and coached at Byron and Medford Community Schools. In 2007, she earned a Master’s Degree from Winona State University. Rarick is currently a middle school teacher and eighth grade basketball coach at Tipton Middle School.
Vicky and her husband James, a 1999 graduate of Upper Iowa and an All-IIAC football player, live in West Branch, Iowa with their 8-month old daughter Kendra.
