Rogers, football coach at Center Point-Urbana Schools since 1973, was a football letterman, and all-conference player while at UIU. He taught in Cedar Valley Community Schools, and NESCO Community Schools before heading to Cedar Point. He was named Northeast Iowa Coach of the year in 1980, Iowa High School coach of the year, and district coach of the year in 1985, and he has been named conference coach of the year nine times. His 22-year coaching career includes the 1985 state championship, and nine state playoffs. His current coaching record is 143-35.
