Norman "Bud" Wolters, class of 1947, lettered in football and track at Upper Iowa, and his football honors include playing on two conference championship teams. Wolters was also an All-Conference selection during his playing days. He held the Northeast Iowa High School Conference record in the long jump for 20 years and the Oelwein High School long jump record for 32 years.
His teaching and coaching careers includes 14 years of teaching in Iowa and 23 years in California. He recorded eight consecutive Corn Bowl Conference Championships in track at Greene High School. He was appointed the Athletic Director position for 10 years and was principal at Reedley High School in Reedley, California, until he retired in 1985. He is a First Lieutenant in the Marine Reserve and is a past mayor of Greene, Iowa.
