Daniel Rourke

Daniel Rourke received his B.S. from Upper Iowa University in 1971. While at UIU, he lettered three times in baseball and he was named to the All-Conference, All-District and All-Regional team three straight years. Rourke also earned Honorable Mention All-American honors two times and in his senior year, he was the Most Valuable Player in the Conference.

Rourke taught three years in Colfax, Iowa. He also played for the Chicago White Sox organization for six years, and finished with the Triple-A Iowa Oaks in 1974. He has refereed in baseball, basketball and football since 1977 at the high school tournament level. He has also refereed in college baseball, N.A.I.A. and N.J.C.A.A. regionals and districts from 1979 to 1981.

Rourke has been employed with Vic Young Sporting goods since 1972 and has been co-owner since 1976. He and his wife, Pat, and their five-year-old son, Shannon, reside in Indianola, Iowa.
