Bob White, class of 1960, is presently in his 19th year in education. As a coach over the past 28 years, he has totaled a basketball career record of 490-192, and his teams have entered four state tournaments. In 15 years of coaching baseball, he has recorded 236 wins and only 124 losses. As an assistant coach in football, he saw two teams enter state competition. White was also a tennis coach for five years, one of which he guided a state champion doubles team.
White is in his second year as boys basketball and baseball coach at North Scott High School in Eldridge. His teaching and coaching career began at Waukon St. Pat’s from 1936 to 1966 and later included Cascade Aquin (1966 -1967), Allison-Bristow (1967-1975), Iowa Falls (1975-1990), and Western Dubuque (1990-1991).
At Upper Iowa, White lettered in basketball and baseball two times. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Army in 1960 and was selected to the 7th Infantry Division All-Star Basketball and Baseball teams. He pitched for the Allison State A.A.B.C. Champions in 1963 and for the Caledonia, Minnesota, team that finished second in the state tournament.
